CRX Suspension Suggestions
Hey guys...
I'm lookin to upgrade suspension pretty soon- But i don't know too much about it--I want to go with shocks and springs...I don't really want to lower it, but having height and ride adjustments would be great--Where should i start? what should i look for? any #s that i should be comparing or anything?
I want to AutoX the car so having a ride adjustment for stiffer/softer would be great since its also my daily driver...Lowering it for AutoX would be great too...any one know of a good set up for this? Basically adjustable height and ride-- If you could give me some different ones and prices of them- thanks!

look into coilovers. like tein.
if not, look into ground control sleeves and adjustable shocks like koni yellows
do a search on those things i mentioned. a suspension question of this nature is a very overbloatedly discussed topic

Tein Basics have no adjustments other than ride height.....Plus IMO, they're a damn ripoff as are most of the Teins out there (if you don't like my opinion, sorry but just remember I'm entitled to it).
If you're looking to seriously autocross, leave the car stock for now and start autocrossing. Rule goes something like "Modify yourself, then your car." In other words, get to know your car first. Otherwise, you have no way of knowing what things improve your performance on course and what hurts it. If you're looking for fun only and want better performance on the street, something like KYB AGX or Koni Yellows (Sports) would be a good choice for shocks (both have better damping than the Tokico Illuminas & the Konis outdo any of the Teins until you get up to the race stuff that's over $1500). As for the springs, look at coilovers and there you're on your own. I personally like a rear stiff setup with rates that most people would hate on the street (350 fr./ 450 rear minimum). If you want stiff, look at Skunk2, Ground Controls with custom rates (just ask them when you order DIRECT from GC), and even some of the lower brands like Dropzone have high rates with decent quality (plus you can swap the springs out for high quality Eibachs or something similar). If you want something softer, go with off the shelf Ground Controls (Limited Edition if they still make them), Koni Coilover kit (true coilover using Koni Sports), or the Eibach coilover kits if you can find them.

i personally have a Ground Control coilover system. for the $$$$ these are the best. they have been in business for years and know what they are talking about. you can get custom spring rates to best suit you and your cars needs. eibach...one of the best spring makers... makes all of their springs so you know you are buying quality parts. they are very easy to adjust. i also use them with a KYB adjustable shock. the combo is nice, but you have to keep the spring setting high to allow travel for the shock. im about an inch or inch and a half lower than stock and i have never had a better setup in any of my hondas.
