Default 91 crx Si seats in a 91 Std hatch?

well i stumbled on some mint crx Si seats... and from the best i can see.. theres really no way ( aside from fabricating seat rails) to make them bolt into mt hatch... i tried switching seat slider rail things....but the inner rails from the hatch seats wont fit the CRX seats.. and the outer rails from teh hatch seats are riveted to the seat pan...

anyone know of some way to put these CRX seats in my hatch?

thanks!!!

Im not sure how far off the holes are in your case, but when I installed del sol seats into my hatch I had to use 3/8 inch steel and make adapter plates to attach to the rails of the seat. It is pretty involved, however quite worth it in the end.

Best of luck to you.

I know there is a tutorial floating around on how to make the del sol seats fit, you may be able to adapt that method for your crx seats.

i dont know if it will work, but if you have both set of seats... have you tried swapping out the seat pans?

I was lookin forward to the Corbeau. Man, dude, sorry I thought for sure these would fit. This coming from someone who has a 88 civic, had a crx seat at one time, but it sat crooked and now has 90 si seats.
Maybe we can get together to see if it's worth the hassle or not.

that seat pan writeup would be worth a shot, but it would only be useful for your passenger seat, or do you have the std drivers seat?

andy: nope i dont have the drivers seat

and "mansonteamsmyt" : what are you interested in paying for the the seats? .. theyre pretty much perfect.. the drivers side left bolster is SLIGHTLY soft.. but not worn/ ripped at all... frankly theyre the best seats ive seen.. i guess a skinny little dude or a girl had the crx..
anyway lemme know what youre willing to pay and where youre located... i'd rather not ship them to cali or something like that.

lemme know here.. or email me at rc_ofna@yahoo.com

thanks

From doing some swapping my self i found this out my self... But, 88 crx/Civic seats have the non door mounted seat belts and if you take the foam and covers off the 90-91 seats and mount them on the 88 seat pans they will just bolt in....
I had to do the reverse in my wifes car... 88 si seats in a 90... Its a time crunch deal but real easy... All you need is a set of hog ring pliers...

If you can't get it man, I might.

Dang I wish I had known back in the day to switch my seat pans from my 88 dx seats to fit on my 90 si seats. I have it ghetto rigged. Inner rails bolt up (prolly from my 88dx seats can't member) and outer rail from the 90 si. Front mounting hole goes thru the floor with a nice thick steel backing plate about 3" square (1/4" thick or so) and rear mounting hole has a "L" bracket, then two bolts for each rearward mounting hole thru the floor.

It looks ghetto with the three bolts thru the floor for each side, but it's fun to skid them on speedbumps.
Here you can see the rear two sticking out from the underside
