Default kinda poor - want to do swap

i bought a 90 DX 5spd hatch from my friend (burnout who doesnt take care of his cars) for $400. long story short, he didnt fix a simple problem with the hood and one day it ripped off on the highway and dented up the roof, door, and both fenders. trip to the junkyard/parts stores brings me to about $800 total spent on the car. the roof still has a small dent or 2.

i dont feel like putting to much $$ into it but i wana try a swap. whats a inexpensive common easy to do engine swap?

seems like youd be better off tossing a turbo on there if you want easy and more power

i already got a 14b, dsm 450s, and a drag fmic, but i dont know if this engine can take it, like i said im not sure but i dont think it was well takin care of, havent got around to a compression test or anything, what should kinda compression should i expect anyways?

i know my friend that had it bought it for 800 almost mint with a window that didnt roll down and a bad altenator and he (and me) just kinda beat on it for about a year and a half.. then i got it for $400.

what engine is a zc? dohc crx si?

besides, after a manifold, engine managment, piping/bov, and all that mess, id be spending close to as much as a lower milage engine/trans. i really want to do a turbo setup but probly not this engine.

do your research also search for what you need. I havent seen more question topics posted as you have posted here lately.

As for your car since you have some stuff already do a mpfi swap and slap the turbo on there. If the motor blows hell you can pick another d15 for under $300.

I say turbo as well, but I recommend swapping from DPFI to MPFI and toss the 4 speed tranny.

First swap out that DPFI injection for MPFI (there are plenty of write ups on that, you can do it yourself)
Then get yourself a SI tranny, axles, hub/knuckle assembly
Then put together a turbo kit

Oh ya, once turboed make sure to run a good fuel management system
