Timming belt/pully question
I just changed my head gasket, everything worked out fine. this was my first time doing it. when I was about to remove my timing belt, I put white-out on the top part of the belt and on the pulley so I would know where to put it back. but obviously I had to move the pulley (cause I'm an idiot
) soI though, what ever, no big deal I'll just move it back once everything is done.
so tonight, I finished up everything. and since you can't pull the pulley back, I had to turn it one whole turn counter clock wise to put it back to it's original position. I hopefully though that that's all that it needed, but it's still idling really rough. so did I do it right ? how many times do I need to turn the pulley ? once , twice, three times or four ? I glanced in the helms, but I couldn't find anything in there.
thanks in advance
oh, and i kinda need this asap, since I'm trying to sell the car.

I belive you turned it to far, you have to turn it back a bit to put tension on the belt, thats what i remember from doing my timing belt,You could allways just take the timing light to everything and look at it that way?

sounds like somebody needs to learn how to correctly put a timing belt back on. you need to like up your crank pully with the tdc mark on the motor, then you have to make sure your cam gear/gears are a tdc then you can put the timing belt on in this order, crank pulley, tensioner, waterpump, exhaust cam, intake cam.
