Ok, I was racing a Lexus on the way home (yes, i know, street racing is bad....) And the 1st time was great, I got him by a couple of car lengths. But the second time is a different story. I was pulling on him at 3rd and realized it was time to shift, so I attempt to shift to 4th, and 2nd decided it was going in instead of 4th. So i hear my car scream like a bat out of hell, and quickly push in the clutch. i see my tach go wayyyyyy passed what it even registers. But this was for a split second. Do you think i might have floated my valves? Is there anyway to tell what rpm i went to?

 

Does the car drive/sound any different right now??

um...not really for sure yet, if i had to say anything its more hesitate now...

 

you should be ok, my idiot friends used to do that all the time when I'd let them drive my car. (before my h22 swap) It was fine and it must have happened at least 10 times.

 

Start it up and listen to it idle....anything funny?

 

the same thing happend to me at the track. i was going in 3rd and i guess 2nd gear decided to go in. 1st of all does your car start funny and turns off, if it does you may have bent valves.

 

you should do a compresion test.

Actually when its cold it has a hard time running, rpm's want to fall until it dies....

 

bent valves.. happens all too often,

a compresion test /leak down test prefrebly will tell

a friend with a gsr did this, when you pull the head, you can see which valves arn't seating correctly.

Thats great, my friend had bent exhuast valves and he shot flames....should i expect the same?

 

You'll know when you bend your valves from a mis-shift, most of the time the motor will not idle properly and it tends to hesitate and sputter throughout the RPMs. But like everyone else stated above, your best bet is to do a compression test or a leak down test, that should tell you if your valves are bent.

Ya, my valves are bent, it does all that. Sputters, spits, idles wierd. Oh yeah, did i mention it DOES shoot flames out the back....Thats great
