Friend w/ EP3 wants to buy exhaust, what do you reccomend?
I thought that the greddy evo2 would be best but im not sure. hes looking for a deep throaty sound but not too loud, something that has good gains and can be had for under $600. The car already has an intake but he *wants* to boost (most likely supercharge). its only in the beginning stages so hes not sure what he wants to do with it. basically he wants an exhaust that will flow good for NA and make some power but if he does decide to boost, wont bottle neck the system, while at the same time meeting the sound and price requirements.
PS: i did search and found some helpful stuff but nothing related to flow w/ and w/o boost. Thanks guys!

2.5 " piping.
You can get evo2 for around $500 Shippd.

You could do that, or go with HKS Hi-Power exhaust
looks great, and has a great tone without being to loud.

Sorry that those pics aren't really focused on the exhaust.

I've got the Comptech - it's deep, not real raspy. I wouldn't call it "loud" but I wouldn't call it "quiet" either.
Mine has an RSX-S tip welded onto the muffler, so you can't even really tell it's aftermarket (I hate the 3"+ tips).

i felt g ain in horse and it also sounds nice its pretty damn loud but not ricer sound loud
i would do dat but hey if u find somethign else good go for it fujitsubo powergetter seems to starting to get popular hehe no offense to peopel with HKS hi power, but that big of an exhaust not going to help lil slow car like ep3 much 1st of all its a turbo back made huge difference for "turbo" cars. ite peace

What the hell are you talking about? The Spoon N1 you claim made your car faster has 60.5 mm piping, while the HKS Hi-Power for the EP has 60mm piping. 60mm = 2.36220472 inches. I don't see how that piping is too big.

i love my T1R bpipe + Spoon N1, but it may be too loud for some.
imo, greddy evo2 and HKS Hiper are quiet...the only problem is they look like grapefruit launchers.

Ive had the HKS for a while and the problem I had with it was that it touched my body kit and burned the **** out of it. Now I have the new single tip DC exhaust. It feels the same but has a smaller sized tip and points straight. Both are really nice, but I would go with HKS if you dont have a rear lip

1st of all why would u need a granade launcher as an exhaust on an ep3 sure looks big sure looks intimidating but do u think dat it really all dat good performance wise. go check out spoon site and hks site or where ever u want look at performance difference. oh yes btw make sure that the si that ur search for is non turbo

Please do not talk to me about searching, n00b. I will post the numbers again... what part of this don't you understand?
Spoon piping: 60.5mm
HKS Hi Power Piping: 60mm
The Spoon piping is actually .5mm bigger. Are you suggesting that turbo cars do better with smaller exhaust piping diameters?
The HKS Hi Power has a bigger muffler, and a bigger tip. The inner diameter of the piping, is virtually the same as the Spoon. I promise you the size of the muffler will make no difference on a dyno with a trubo Si.
I agree that the HKS doesn't look as good, but that is not what my post was about. I was posting to point out your dumbass spread of misinformation.

There are quite a few decent selections out there. Skunk2 N1/Megapower is really nice. Very, very deep, but not quiet. T1R b-pipe + Spoon N1 axleback is really nice also. It is expensive and definitely loud, but very, very nice tone.. Fujitsubo makes very nice systems as well; JDM blingage expensive like the T1R/Spoon combo.
