Default Dart block with LS crank, what bearings??

I would assume to use the standard ls bearings since the block is new and the crank has never been turned. ANyone know what honda bearing I need to get? I was told greens but not sure with this combination.

first, look at the bearing codes on the crank, or the block it came out of. if you cant find either, take a micrometer and measure it. compare the actual measurement of the bearing journals, all of them, and do the math to figure out what bearings youll need. *or, take the crank to a machinist, explain to them that you need the crank turned and the proper bearings that will keep all tolerances within OEM specification.* (last reply is actually recommended)
you need to balance the crank because it would be a waste of time to put an unbalanced crank in a dart block.

yes you would definantly want to check the crank markings and measure the journals, if you have a micrometer to do so. you can also buy a few of the common OEM bearings such as Green and Brown. then use them to guage each journal with plasti-guage to see what the clearance will be. if too much or too little, then you can try some of the other colors til the clearance is just right.

Green colored bearings are what some install to be within the needed factory specs, but checking the clearances to be exact is the way to go.
