Default Would these Quaife gear ratios make a 200+ WHP GSR faster??

I was contemplating on a 98 spec JDM ITR tranny with an ATS FD gear

then I came across these gear ratios from the Quaife website. If I got these gears I'd probably go with these ratios:

1st: 2.462
2nd: 1.813
3rd: 1.500
4th: 1.25
5th 1.045

FD 4.154

I plugged these numbers into a gear calculator and calculated that 1st gear should be able to take me up to 60 MPH at 9000 RPM's, but would this make me faster though? Wound this set-up make the car accelerate faster or would getting a JDM 98 spec ITR tranny with the ATS FD gear be better? At the same time I want to be able to have a 140 MPH Top speed. I know that if I got a bigger FD ratio, my top speed goes down, but acceleration gets better.

y'know what?

You should give the guys over at racingcraft.com a call...

They are relatively near you and could help answer your questions.

They have a lot of customers who road race, etc... And they carry lots of ats stuff.

Ask for Anthony or Yasu.

Nope, if your definition of going faster is taking an eternity, then go for it. Why in the world would you want your 1st gear to hit 60mph? If you want fast gearing, the 1st gear shouldn't hit over 40mph. (Yeah, I sound really technical here... ). Damn, instead of me explaining it, if you've got a GT,GT2 or GT3 for the PS or PS2, play with the custom gearing and see the results.

if you go with the ATS gears and the FD which i think is 4.9xx
you will get to 120 real quick but lose your top mph
I had considered this but to run on a bigger track I wont have the high mph
hell at WG i was 125-130ish on the straights in 4th @9600
thats why I am doing a bit more saving for the FD but prob going to run the ITR gearset
fast to me is high mph
quick is how fast you get there
