Default quick opinion on speakers...

i'm probably gonna go get some new speakers for my car. the guy at the shop wants to hook me up with a good set of pioneer premier 6.5 components and 6.5 2ways for 300 (the ones with the yellow cone). i was just wondering if i should go with that or spend the extra money and just get a set of mb quartz pce216 components for about 500 since the rear speakers are an older pair of pioneer 3ways and the front set are stock (i believe). i have an amp to power the internal speakers, 60watts per channel @4ohms. thanks for the opinions

Are you ****** nuts? $500? $300? The PCE 216's go for about $250 plus shipping on ebay all day long. $500? Tell that guy at the shop to get the hell on.

But if you do get the PCE 216's, I don't think that 60 watts per set is enough. I have the reference series which is the model below the premiums, and I have 150 watts going to each set, and they do beautifully.

i'd go with the components, but .. definatly look into purchasing online, you'll save a signifigant amount.

if you're worried about warranty (as some online shops don't offer one), try getting SoundDomain to pricematch, since they are authorized for most of what they sell..

those infinity 6.5 components are bad-***. make sure they are the perfect series though. and i would go w/ some 3 way 6x9's in the rear (baffled)
