Looks good but IMO don't match it to your car, match it to your interior. It'll stand out too much otherwise

ditto, i also think it would stand out too much if color matched to the car. if it matched the interior, it'll look more stealth/factory. but if that's not the look you are going for, then stick with your original plan. either way, post pics when it's done, good luck
How can you match it to the interior though? That's pretty hard to do. It looks like he's got a tan interior.
I think it will be hard to spray paint match it, and may be too detailed to match it with vinyl.
This always seems to be a problem when doing interior work IMO.

thanks for all the compliments. i thought about painting it the same color as my interior but it would be too hard to color match with tan. and about seeing the monitor down there i think that the picture quality of alpine is damn good so there shouldn't be a problem. thanks and keep comments coming!!!
No comment, but a question since I love this kind of stuff.
Do you have any 'in progress' pictures? I'd love to see how you built the frame, stretched the fleece(or whatever you used) etc.

unfortunatly i dont have any in progress pics. my buddy and i had it in his shop and he did about all the formation work so i am not really familiar with all the methods he used but i know he did use a wood frame for around the monitor and then molded it to the console, i also believe that he did use fleece but i am not sure because he is the professional and i am just a novice at custom work

stillencivic - i did this all my self. my dad owns a bodyshop that i worked at for a long time so i did all of the paint and body work on my car. i ordered the monitor for 200 or so and then just used fiberglass we had laying around. i currently install car audio/video at my new job so i know how to do that also. if i was to put a price on this tho, like if someone wanted me to do it, i would charge 500 bucks installed and painted.
there is a company out there that sells spray paint that is OEM interior colors... I have a can of light grey for spraypainting pillar pod gauges... I dont remember what the name of the company is though...
i would do that instead of painting it blue...

The answer is SEM. You can also use I believe Dupont camo paint
to match it to the interior...its just take time and feathering skills.
To find SEM paint...try here: http://www.seslectproducts.com
