Default Exhaust: Low Tone OEM Crx Place Muffler? What brand?

Looking for a nice low tone exhaust for a crx with a sohc zc with a gutted cat.

My muffler I bought was a universal that goes in the end and I also bought a 22" cherry bomb to put in place of the oem muffler to act as a resonator and have the universal at the end.

Now The problem is that the univeral is to long for the end because the 90 degree bends in my exhaust at the back is 10inches away form the back bumper, to small of a space for a muffler like that.

Now I need a nice muffler thats low tone and I wont have clearance problems with

Any help?

AUDIO CLIPS WILL BE LOVED!!

an ES oval will fit into the OEM muffler location? Ive been searching some thread and found that the TurboMax muffler was basically an es oval exhaust without the bling and cost.

Could use that and this cherry bomb to act as a resonater after the cat

22" glasspack + any turbo (ES or otherwise) muffler = works good

if im not mistaken the guys from exospeed.com said the es oval is just a dynomax anyway

it wont be as quiet as a stock car unless u use say .. an oem muffler for another application like a dodge hemi or a cadillac v8 .. but with a big glass pack and a turbo muffler it should still fall in the realm of tasteful...

Get a cat. A gutted cat kills horse power and makes it sound annoying.

After getting a cat, go with a Worldsport (88-91 Civic HB) cut to fit, or an RS-R exmag

gutted cat kills power? Proof? Sure you can smell it a little more but with a 22" resonator, it will be fine.

Gonna go to Autozone tomorrow to see if I can find a turbo max 2.25 for under $40

proof = not very straight through in terms of air flow. Running a straight pipe will yeild better flow with more power.

But you said a gutted cat kills power, I could tell right away when I took out my cat by the ammounts of solid looking pieces of ash that it was restricting me like a mother ******. Just gutted it and I couldnt hear a differnce

Like I said, Ill see how much the turbo mufflers are

gitted cats are bad cause it makes a turbine. if ur gonna run no cat atleast get a testpipe made. but if u want a quiet exhasut i would say anything similar to my setup.
highflow cat
resonator
2.25 piping
and the biggest universal oval magnaflow pipe u can get. ull be very happy with the sound.

Well instead of paying 80 USD id rather pay the 35 CDN and save some money.

Just wanna know if itll be any good, someone above said any turbo muffler would do the trick

EDIT: Looks just like this put instead of having the duel outlet on the one side, only has one outlet in the middle

I am running a Super Sprint unit that bolts inplace of the factory muffler assy.. I like the sound and it has worked well.

You can check out the sound in this video clip. You need Divx to play it.

Yes, it does kill power when compared to a straight pipe.

I had the MTL on my 00 Si. That was a friggin work of art. I would get people asking about it and good compliments all around. JDM tip and just the axle back on the stock cat and b-pipe. I took it off and sold it for exactly what I paid for it (minus shipping), right before my car was stolen, stripped and left for dead in the Grove. (vent) Filthy f'in savages.
