The Alabama region is putting on its 2nd Annual Super Summer Shootout Solo 2 on June 13th (sunday) at the Birmingham Race Course in Birmingham, Alabama. The venue is the largest Solo 2 venue in the Southeast. It is a limited entry, no novice event. The course will typically be about ONE MILE give or take a few feet. Can you say lots of course time? Yes you can.

All entrants will get a event t-shirt. The Alabama region will also be doing a hot dog, chips, burgers, coke cookout all day long which is FREE to the entrants. We have extra special trophies for this once a year event. We will be giving away door prizes such as acfree hour of dyno time at Walker Dynotune, one free hour of labor at SpeedSouth, various eatery gift certificates.

We bought a new "deluxe" chalker that is (thank god) easy to use so the entire course will be chalked for ease of reference. We now have a 8in. LED display for competitors to see their times as you cross the finish line. We have a timing and scoring trailer now with A/C and new computers/software so our timing and scoring is cool, calm, relaxed and accurate. To keep competitors cool when they are on station we have also gotten E-Z tent to keep the sun off of you. Even better we have purchased and have been running for the last two months a wireless bar code reader. At registration you get a bar code sticker to put on your top left side of your windshield. When you roll up to the start, the starter scans your sticker with the bar code reader and it transmits all your information to timing and scoring. Nice.
