I cant remember for the life of me... Im almost positive the mains on the 98+ blocks are 55mm and the pre 98 blocks are 50mm (right?)

What needs to be done to get the H23 crank into a 98 block???

You are correct about the main sizes.

I don't think you can fit an H23 crank in a 98+ block.

Why not sell your block and get a 93-97 vtec block or a 92-96 H23 block??

an h23 crank in an h22 block is pointless. the main reason why people spin bearings is because of the longer stroke ratio. you might as well just do an h23/22 vtec or just stick with a stock h22 block/crank.

:edit: not pointless but more likely to have problems

Id have to disagree, ive seen many run very strong and with plenty of reliability... The internet is about the only place Ive seen with problems pretaining to 2.3 blocks... Jeff of IB had one that ran for years with no problems, so have a ton of others... You cant always believe what you see/read on the internet

yes 98+ is 55mm
and 97 and below is 50mm

the only way to get a h23 crank in a 98+ block is to look into find an h23 crank from the h23 vtec that came in the accord sir, that was made 98+

but other than that, if you find some company that will make you 5mm main bearings .. whihc i wouldn't do..

You are correct sir... Many people seem to forget that not every person or shop that builds engines talks about it online... There are some badass motors out there that have been built that we will never even know about... Although an H23 VTEC seems like a rarity here on HT, people build them all the time, still not as common as the popular LS/VTEC but if you go out to your local races and meets I'm sure you will find someone with an H23 VTEC pimpin strong...

Thats what I was going to reccommend, I like the idea of 55mm mains better...
