sometimes i cant even get into second. my third is grinding in high rpm's. and no way will i get into first when the cars moving. i'm debating should i look for another or fork out the cash for a rebuild. i've had my tranny rebuilt once before, cuz the guy i bought from didnt tell me about the grinds. the shop that did the rebuild wasn't as good as i thought. they just put a band-aid on it. so is it worth fixing with brand new internals or go look for a used one that might be a lemon again ?? wheres a reputable shop that i can trust ?? i got a quote for 1200 bucks using all oem honda but thats the guy i took it to first. i need a shop with feedback not just word of mouth. thanks in advance guys.

 

for 1200 bucks you can just go buy yourself a good type r tranny. to me the only time i would really spend that much money on rebuilding a tranny is if i was going to get like a final drive or a lsd to go with it. but there are alot of guys on here on honda-tech that could help you with all this. i can also suggest a couple of shops but i dont know where you are located

 

yea i'm in the market for a 98 itr tranny. but i dont wanna end up with another lemon. and im in oc, socal. the one i have right now is a 96 itr tranny
