BASICALLY:

Matt's car got stolen a while back (95 gsr, built, fast as f00k). Some of the norcal guys might remember it was the black g3 at the berkley meet.

But there's this new g3 thats been drivin around town, sounds damn similar, and we're suspecting that its matt's car. Its been repainted and had every emblem shaved.

So my question is:

Where are the vins located? Are they only in the Door jam on that sticker, the firewall, and on the dash? or is there somewehre else?

Cuz if this IS matt's car...

They may have removed them.

Tell the local police, they should help you get looking under the hood.

Also, try to pry back some interior trim around the doors, and see if you can see some of the original color

 

If you look down on the drivers side part of the front windshield, the VIN should be somewhere in there where the dash meets the windshield.

 

the vin# is stamped on the frame and body in over 20 places. i'm not sure on all of them, but that's the idea honda had in mind. if it is your friends car, they could not have grinded off all the vin#'s. some of the vins are not even meant to be seen and are painted over from the factory. you can try and contact your local dealership and see if they can tell you any of the other than obvious places. good luck man...thievs should be castrated.

 

The VIN is also on the top-side of the front and rear bumpers. You can't really check that yourself but if you got the police involved it could happen.

negative on the fenders. Body parts weren't placed with VIN's until 1996. I'm not sure to how many of the placements these apply, but I know you won't find them on the fenders, bumpers, doors, etc.
