how does my vband fit on my turbo????

have a brand new t3 60-1 turbo being shipped to me,aswell as a vband,now ive been told it welds on,now how do i put a dp to match,or does that weld to the band aswell??????

V-bands use two weld-on tube sections with a lip that are clamped together with the band clamp.
