Default Took some mroe weight out...

Today the PS pump, PS reservoir, AC pump, Radiator fan, and PS bracket came off. Grand total was 40 lbs. I've still got to pull the condenser, AC lines, and some PS lines.

I'm worried about the rack getting dry so a new reservoir with a vent will be going on to close the PS system back up. Right now it is plugged on one end and open on the other, although no more fluid appears to be coming out. Also I was worried about pulling the fan off, so we'll see if the car starts overheating or not. It was fine today and it was pretty hot, although AR can get up to 100 on some days.
I'm going to go strip my car down to race condition, wash the PS fluid out of my engine bay and reweigh the car tonight. Earlier this week it was 2860 with my 180lb *** in it, the spare, jack, and all of the stuff that I didn't get ripped out until today.

With the belt off it was a PITA to turn. Now that the pump is out it isn't bad at all. I have to use two hands to turn the wheel now, but once I get the car through a corner I can let the wheel go and it will jump straight right away. It looks like I'll have a house with a garage by the end of June, so I'll go ahead and gut everything else that I can out of the engine bay and put a reservoir for the PS fluid closer to the rack. That should save me some more effort when turning since there will be less line to push fluid through.
Basically, I like driving the car like this and I can feel the road alot better.

when you say it's open on the other side, were you trying to drain the fluid
out of the rack, or were you driving it this way?
i assume you plan on looping the hoses, correct?

I don't have a garage right now, so when I went to a new performance shop in town to get my T-belt and h2O pump replaced. I asked about pulling the AC and PS and he said he'd do it for free. He just pulled the PS and drove it up to my work to see how it drove. I was laughing because there was a big *** smoke cloud from all of the PS fluid burning on my header shield(getting SMSP header real soon so it's headed to the trash anyways.) The fluid had to come out one way or the other so we're just driving it around for now.
We plugged one side so no more fluid comes out. I'm not going to loop them until I can make room for a reservoir on the firewall.

Alright, Hype R chaser don't start that up... Hell, anyone have a non-ABS braking system that I could have for cheap?

If I can get this pig to 2500lb and that motor to 200 whp(Like the almighty W2W racer above me) then I'll be a happy boy...for a week or two anyways.

Alright I'm going to the carwash and to the scales after that. See yall and my now-chilled-6 pack in an hour or so.

after a couple weeks your triceps toughen up and it's no big deal to steer. The only times I had an issue was basically at a dead stop and if you ever have to make a defensive driving move you aren't really prepared for the amount of resistance cause you're thinking about where you're going

I'm at 2820 lbs on the truck scales in race with me in the car, so minus 180 lbs the car is roughly at 2640 lbs.
Hopefully pulling the rest of the PS and AC stuff will get me to 2600. Then switching to non-ABS, a hawker battery, lighter seats, and a CF hood will hopefully get me to 2500.

1. Does anyone make a stock looking fiberglass hood for our cars?
2. Anybody have the lines, master cylinder, etc. for a non-ABS 4G prelude?

Sorry, I don't have the lines, but I removed my ABS and was able to find non-ABS parts at the junkyard pretty easily. Unless you're badass at flaring brake lines, you'll need the booster, MC, lines and booster-to-pedal connector from a Prelude S.
