Anyone ever heard of it happening. Im talking all motor here. Fully NA. I have never heard of it.
Is is possible to have a 11 second street car that also doubles as a road race car.
I dont know................................... guess we'll find out!

I don't think a Prelude could manage 11 second 1/4 mile passes all motor, especially in street trim, it's almost impossible, but I'm sure people are going to say that with money anything is possible.
Have seen 12.20s all motor at the track with a 4th gen. I didn't know the guy, but he said he had the 2.6l stroker kit from rd dyno, custom headwork, the 90mmbore kit from endyne w/12to1pistons, and an aem ems.

that was an awesome post!!!!
what he said, only a seat and the engine, the rest would have to be shell!!

i think it would take more than 12.0:1 compresssion
to run those times.
did you see the inside of his car?
what's the elevation at the track?

hahahaha, that is funny but all too true, i have seen a car at a track w/o the trunk lid, all doors were gone, no rear bumper, whole interior was gutted besides the driver seat, and a bunch of other stuff, also i would remove your a/c, and removing power steering would shave off some more pounds.

I think it could be done, granted the weight reduction, and engine mods. The engine list would be around 6000.
But it would be a prelude running 11's not a civic or integra.
no one thinks it can be done, just like no one seems to think 13.1 compression will work in a dd street car.
I will make it fast, but not sure that much power will be good for a road race car too.

ahh you dont' need no stinking steering the 1/4 mile is straight lol
BTW what about those 2nd/1st gens they're about civic weight and you can stick b's in them!

Okay... let's look at things from a realistic perspective.
You can turn a 15 seconds prelude to a 14 second prelude with about $1000. This is assuming full interior, all acessories, bladie-blah. Only general problems need to be conquered here, which basic bolt-ons can accomplish.
Turning a 14 second prelude into a 13 second prelude is a lot more intensive. In all fatness it will require some sort of forced induction or a crazy motor buildup. You're looking at $2000-$5000 to go from 14 to 13, depending if you choose boost/all motor.
Turning a 13 second prelude into a 12 second prelude on street trim is a fantasy at best. Very few people can realize this fantasy. You will need extensive boost build up, drivetrain reinforcement, body lightening (but still street, this means a lightweight crate motor, polycarbonate glass, carbon fiber everything), and your ability to even use street-legal tires is highly in question. You are looking at at least $8000 to go from 13 seconds to 12.
As you can see, the problems presented by this platform makes smaller timeslips exponentally harder to achieve. FWD, stock open differential, and traction problems are the main culperits. How much do you think going from 12 seconds to 11 are going to cost you? After all that, will you still be driving a Honda or a Nascar-esque shell with a Honda badge on it? Keep it street, keep it respectable, but don't get stupid with it.
When will we as Honda enhusiasts embrace that the road course is where we belong, and not the drag strip?

i disagree on this one, with 8k you could go from 15 to 12 sec,
maybe not 12 flat but you could be in the 12s
you could build up the block, have a decent turbo setup
a good ems, nitrous and slicks and be there

freemantle.... good way to put it, I still think it can be done na style though. And yes streetable too. If integras can do it, then so can preludes.
I will never do it, Im sticking to more of the road race thing, as you said. I love that you said that. But drag is fun when you dont have the time, or money to go road racing.
