JUN II intake cam..what exhaust cam should i use?
ok well the whole cam decision has been really really hard for me since there are so many choices and companies that make good power..so ive decided to spend half my money saved up for a JUN II intake came since its pretty much the same as the JUN III except longer duration
..my question is what should i do about an exhaust cam?...i was thinking skunk 2 stage 2 or JUN III when i build my bottom end (next summer) and maybe a ctr or 98 spec itr ex cam until then? or should i just get the s2s2 or JUN III ex cam now and leave it detuned until im ready to build the block and up the compression?...i know a few people using the s2s2 cam on stock blocks and thier cars run fine..but the thing is they all have b18's and i have a b16..will it be a unreliable setup if i run a higher lift ex cam with out the high compression? or should i just buy a ctr/itr ex cam until my block is built?..but if i do it this way im pretty much wasting 250 dollors on a cam for a few months...and then have to spend 4-500 bucks on an ex cam when the time comes..what should i do?

so will i be safe if i run a junIII or skunk 2 stage 2 exhaust cam until i build my block in a couple months? its a stock block b16 remember..i just wanna know if ill be safe in doing this because i dont wanna destroy my motor

Why not use the JUN III cam for the intake as well. I know the JUN II has more advertised duration but it is not only duration and lift that dictates how much power a cam is going to make. You also have to take into consideration ramp angle. JUN III's have a more aggresive ramp than the JUN II's do. As for what exhaust cam to use I would match it with JUN II just because of the ramp angle. You might have slower opening and closing intake valves then you will exhaust valves if you use the III on your exhaust side and the II that you have on the intake side.
