Help with B16A2 swap into my 97 Civic EX
I'm looking to buy this B16A2 engine with tranny and ecu that I found online. It includes:
- Motor
- Hydraulic Tranny (S21, Y21)
- ECU (P30)
- Alternator
- Starter
- Clutch
- Flywheel
- Intake Manifold
- Exhaust Manifold
- Fuel Rail
- Injectors
- Distributor
- Engine Harness
- Comes With All Sensors Needed
- LSD Tranny
It does not include:
- Axles
- Shift Linkage
- Motor Mounts
My question is... Would I still be able to swap this into my civic? Do I really need the Axles, Shift Linkage and Motor Mounts? If I don't, are there any disadvantages? If I get them, what are the advantages?
Thanks!

Yes, you'll want to use everything that the swap comes with. Being you said it comes with a P30, I'm assuming since it's an A2 that the ECU could be OBD2 as well unless I'm mistaken. I've only came across OBD1 P30's.
if it's OBD2a, then you are good to go, if it's OBD1 P30, however, you'll need an OBD2a > OBD1 jumper harness to run that ecu.
other than that, you'll want to use Si mounts (rear bracket and mount post) then everything else will bolt right in.
I would also take off your EX harness and use that harness onto the B16 already having vtec and knock embedded into the car -- plus the fact that your harness is a 1-piece design.
HTH.

you will have no choice you have to use b series axles..the d series axles will not fit into tranny.. besides the fact b series needs a half shft axle also... same with the shift linkage.. d series will not fit ... only b series will work
