Oil leak in h23 prelude
I have a pretty bad oil leak around the thermostat housing area and I've looked and looked and can't find what it could be..Anyone have any leaks in that area and know what it could be?
It's not the head gasket cause I just changed it a month ago.

my guess would be the cam cap, its a rubber plug that drys out, or its you valave cover.
does it look to be coming from more under the ditributer or more under the cam cap?

cam cap but it doesn't seem like the cam cam would pump out this much oil but you are prolly right cause that's what I thought it was too I'll tear the engine down later today when it cools down and see. Anything else I should look for while I'm in there?
btw I'm losing about a quart every 2 days and it's droping straight on the 2 to 1 part of the header and pouring off of the tranny too.
Thanks

that was one of the things I thought it was too but the oil is coming up higher than that and unless it is spraying oil all over the place then it's can't be that. but I'll change it too.. Anything else? I wanna get it fixed today cause I'm tired of having smoke coming out of my hood when I'm at a redlight.
thanks again for your help

it has to be that, unless it is leaking oil out from the headgasket. i know it sounds strange but i heard this from two different import performance shops when i had the oil leak problem. maybe it is leaking from the oil pan, if not the valve cover gasket was not installed properly.

just to make sure, you are not thinking of the gasket on the oil filter right?

not necessarily, i had small leak, but big enough to cause smoke. in my case the leak would glide to the oil filter, then drip to the exhuast near the o2 sensor. in some ocassions it would drip to the cv axle and then it would get all over the place

there's no way that there would be oil from the oil filter adapter
gasket near the ts housing, one's in the front and one's in the rear
it probably your cam plug or cam seal.
change the vc gskt and the cam plug/seal and take a look at your timing
belt and make sure there is no oil on it and go from there
