Taz' Speedvision WC Type R #000002 for sale!
I am selling the second Type R built, serial #0000002 that was prepared by DC Sports in 1998. The car has everything you need to run up front in SVWC, from trick Ohlins shocks to Alcon brakes, to a full spec motor.
Possibly the fastest road racing Type R available, and is for sale dirt cheap.
$35,000
Is for competiton use only, NOT STREET LEGAL!
Interested?

This is the 2nd car for sale, and is the 2nd ever made as far as I know. At least the serial number is 0000002? This is the 1st car DC built, Glen bought my back up car earlier in the year, and that car is almost a twin to this car.
This car has no ABS just huge Alcon calipers, and has a different seat, a Carbon Recaro, and a few other minor changes.
The engine has just 2 races on it, and we have solved the JE piston pin thing. (OOPS< Sorry Glen?) There are tons of pictures and the latest are on the SVWC BBS.
Anybody know anyone who wants to road race a great car?

Taz, is it true that you guys at Touring next year will run DC5, new ITR instead of the old DC2?
If not, what car do you plan to compete next year in? IS300?
Sorry for going off-topic, but I'll have this thread forward to my car club and see if any guys can folk out enough money for it.

I am selling to make room for another project, a second Civic Si for next year.
It has gotta go...
As for the new RSX, they are supposed to have given Realtime 2 RSX' to start work on, and you may see them (Realtime) debut 2 next year and still run 3-4 DC2 ITR's. I doubt they will get the new car up to speed that soon. World Challenge is tough.
I am a Honda guy now and they want me to run 2 Civics.
I might get a NEW 2002 Civic Si later in the year but it will take me 6 months to develop to maybe a year. Race cars alway get better with miles on them. You might see a few in 2003 in SVWC.

I will run my Civic Si and a new 2000 Civic Si as well.
The IS300 will be strong but we will cover them!
I am 100% Honda now.

If you have any spare time during the off-season, Mr. Harvey, please come visit this forum more often and give some enlighten lectures for us amateur racers/tuners. TIA!
One last question: The new Si you were talking about are the hatchback with the shifter on the dashboard? That's neat, please show us what it can do!

oh ya how do you guys cope w/ the crapy *** b-series trannys? seems like alot of people scratch going into third, is this an inhereant problem? or are honda trannys on the fragile side?
Taz, will you be making the long trip to run the ARRC this year, too? Last year in the enduro, we were pitted right next to you.
Glad to see you're starting to have a lot of success with the Civics! Keep up the awesome job!

This looks like such a popular thread, maybe we should have a separate forum on H-T.com called "Talk to Taz"

Wow, alot of interest!
1) Skunk2 builds the motors for me, and realtime builds their own.
2) The B series trannys are great. I ran all year 10 races on the same tranny. Some people are harder on the gearbox than others. ( Like brakes...) The B trans was designed for less than 200hp and there are alot of guys puting out way more than that now and there lies a problem. The only better trans out there in SVWC is the BMW unit that is way overbuilt and could take 400 hp probably. Be glad you dont drive a COUGAR or something that ***** tranny left and right!
3) The new Si will be out in the Spring, and I hope they will give me one ASAP. I usually get a press car after every one writes their stories....

Oh yeah the ARRC!
I was invited last year to coach a guy, Streve Paul in a Prelude Si. He did great and finished 4th against some $35k Rx7's that Speedsource was running in ITS.
I am at home this year and it looks like unless I get a last minute ride offer, I will be in Cali this weekend.
Too bad, I would love to drive in the enduro again. Last year I was running well, and then pitted, did the driver change, and had to leave for the airport. I think we had some problems after I left, and they called the race early because of darkness.
I do recall that Bruce from Hoosier said that I was the only guy he had ever seen wear out a lrft rear tire on a fws car! ( Sliding through turn 1 ans 12...)

Taz,
Why the change from an ITR to a civil si? Are you a dedicated Honda guy now?
How much can you modify a civic vs. an ITR?
Just curious.

Whut's the deal with Speedvision and it's growing interest in NASCAR and lack of interest in roadracing events?
A question for Taz: What advice would give someone like me who wants to start roadracing as like a weekend hobby?

Are there really that many probs with b-series tranny's? So far as I know, they are rock solid. Yeah, designed for under 200hp, but i know a *bunch* of people who regularly punish their tranny's with 300+hp.
(VW and Merc tranny's are junk from what ive seen)
Now axles...they are another story...
