Anyone here NYC. If you know intakeauto, drt, rampage or any other performance parts shop let me know your thoughs about them. I have been hearing alot of complains about some of these shops especially intakeauto....
What do you plan to do on your car? What kind of mods are you trying to install?
For what kind of racing? And would you mind share some of the complains? Don't worry, as much as I know, none of these shop owners are on this board.

I've heard of these stores...and this is my honest opinion, the speed shops in ny are good for nothing...actually they are good when you want to buy Altezza lights. I don't trust my car being handled by any one of them. For parts I would rather buy online, payless...and even less hassle talking to the schumcks working at these places. For working on my car, they are no better than working with some club members that know how to install parts...or you should go to a shop that is recommended by someone you know and trust and had their car worked on there before. And as of now...I've haven't heard anything good about these ny shops.

Yeah...I heard T.N.T is pretty good.......Turbo Nitro Tuning, I don't know if they are good for NA tuning though. Exit 53 off LIE.
DRT bulids good drag cars for the track. Lip's car is built by them.

RPM NYC sells stolen parts sometimes, but one of their infamous car built was a solid ITR race car for Speedvision World Challenge Touring.

Rampage is somehow ghetto and heard it's good for RX7 tune ups and the only one in NYC with a dyno. So if you want to tune your car on a dyno without going out of state, Rampage is the only choice.
My car is being built by a mechanic in NJ who is a freak on engine works, anything involves wiring to engine, he's my only choice thus far! He was recommended by some Japanese acquaintances of mine so I know he's good stuff. For other bolt-on and maintanance, I let a local shop do it cause I know them for a long time and I can stay to watch and question while they do the work, the mechanic there was an ex-rally racers.
So, words of mouth is very important to find your "guy". If there are any doubts, don't go there, because you will feel uncomfortable at the end.

I wonder whats up with Rampage? Are they out of business? Everytime I pass by during the day it seems like they are always closed. I need to go in there for dyno time soon.
H-pimp, let all these people know who the best mechanic, Monkey Man Joel, He now in ECP in NJ but when we put the PAWS (I mean hands) to the engine, Magic happens.

Rampage is not closed...I think one of the guys has had a major family crisis

I personally chill with DRT people and all but I like how Joel (Monkey man) works on the cars, He is just Nice, I dont trust many people either with my eg6 but I dont mind Joel working on it, He is called the after hours man cause he sleeps all day and works all night. I thought he was related to Vampires and ****.

All of that told to me by a Law enforcement friend of the family, They just havent been able to pin them yet. So Screw RPM
I am on the concourse around 161th st, By the Yankee stadium area, I drive a Red EG6 with Honda 14 Rims and a GOt Nos Sticker on the window.
Where are U from
Where are U from
do u have directions after exit 53 to get to TNT, i have heard RPM is pretty reputable.
I lived in the Bx until I was 12. I lived around Sedgwick (sp) Ave and Van Cortland ave. I agree with you about not trusting NYC shops
pelham parkway not to far from fordham or 161'st.. i been there a few times... also been to all 3 floors of the bookings if you know what i mean.
im gonna have to give you da smackdown, mr i know how to build motors b/c i can ask leo every question. lolim from da bronx. DRT is a kewl place, but i know the owner, so i cant complain.
its true tho, for a good race buildup, this is the place. for a moderate street buildup, ralphy gets annoyed. hehe
ive heard ECP is good. anyone know? do they have a dyno too? rampage is too smokey for my lungs..
