Default fabrication related question

sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but this is where 99% of the fab people look/post

first off i was tig welding yesterday wearing shorts (dumb) and i got sunburned because of it.. is it just like a tanning bed or is it worse.. cause its pretty painful and red on my knees and a little down my leg.

second is there a certain tungsten grinder i should get that is better than the others?

I made that mistake once....once! I was welding a new welding table together and burned the **** out of my legs. It'll go away, it's just like major sunburn. On the tungsten, I use a belt sander.

LOL ,, Welding is fun but I'm sure all that has welded made a mistakes , or should I say painfull choices . I use to weld with shorts and t-shirts all the time . You your legs have the sock mark that is not tan and the short part also ,, That's how my arms use to look like . From elbow to risk would be all tan and with lots of weld burns , than the hand is white , well you get the picture . It's funny , I learned but it took a while . Now I bought a long sleeve leather slip over and that did justice . Worth the money . The Shorts is still happening cause it Cali and it's hot here ..
Oh one more thing I have a face shield and now the neck is always tan . LOL
