Default Is it me thats wrong or MECP that is wrong?

I am reviewing my MECP Basic Installer book to take the test next week. I am still not getting this question on their VOM. They say that on the 250v scale, the needle would indicate that there is 25 volts being measured...To me it looks like it is exactly 15 volts. Look for yourself:

Is it 15 volts or is the MECP book right?

MCEP is wrong O_O

looks like 15v to me. but then again, i'm more of a digital guy so none of this analog crap matters much to me. haha

yeah same here, the digital ones cant measure flux. in voltage smoothly if there is some in a circuit, so VOMs would be useful in that way. There are a few more examples where i think MECP is wrong...anyone else read that it is 15 volts? People at work that dont know anything about voltage or anything read it as 15. Kinda sux if the book that is for studying for a certification is wrong

I only use my dmm for measuring a voltage at an amp or speaker. Nothing I measure really have flux that great. Unless I need it for a flux capacitor. LMAO

lol well i meant flux for a fluxuation in voltage digital ones wont show it very well but a VOM will show it smoothly

I wonder what the specs are of it tho, lol. I know it 1.21 jiggawatts(gigawatts) but watts = Amperage * voltage so, if i knew amps or volts, i could figure it out

well i bought it in 2004... so i guess 2004 lol. i should have taken this test a LONG time ago when i got the book, i just never got motivated till now to take the test. But seriously, i think it is bad for a certification book that has errors like this...important things like reading a VOM....i know that people should be able to but this threw me off a little, i was like "wtf, am i a dumbass thats been reading the scales wrong all the time?". I know its not a "how to" book at all but i think everyone gets what I mean.

I REALLY hope they accidently added in the wrong image, because if the people who made this book really thinks that reads 25volts......MECP is goin down the toilet . I know it couldnt be a typo because the one below says "if its set to the 25 volt scale, you would have to divide this by 10 to get 2.5 volts"....so im guessing they just put the wrong image in

Not only this image mixup that is messed up but(i would have to look specifically what it is) there are also other things that can really mess someone up if they arent really paying attention. I forgot what type of formula it is but the book was explaining the relationship of Kirchoffs current law or some big main principle in the book to something else and they had it totally backwords...i think they really need more proof readers for a CERTIFICATION BOOK.....that still catches me when they have this book having very significant errors

LOL....is the cover greyish/blue with a guy on his back installing? If so that is the OLD test guide. Many of the diagrams are "misleading"...don't read into it as much (kinda sucks though)..but the theory is there. What its stating is how to read the analog meter. If you remember that you should do fine. After taking the basic test six different times over my career since its inception (just to have that certification)...its easy. You should do fine.

The new BASIC guide is grey...most of the diagrams have been corrected.
The Advanced guide is black....and covers a lot of the theory in more detail than the old combo guide. If you have the $$ purchase both...it will make great sense to you and a great reference. If not just get the NEW basic and it will all be much clearer.

I have the test guide that has the light emmitting didode on the fron of it, along with(on the left side starting from the top) an exploded view of a subwoofer, a cars flatscreen monotir on the roof, a keyless entry remote and a factory cd player.

I know not to read into it too much, thats y im catching all of their mistakes lol. The test seems like it would be really easy. Im im getting the MPS cert. also.
