Default I FAILED Aircare (Smog testing or whatever)..... why?

I just went to do my aircare and I seemed to have failed. I installed the stock cat about 1/2 hour before, and re-set the ECU a few minutes before taking the test. Also, I have a high-output fuel pump on a stock engine.

Could I have failed because of the fuel pump or maybe a bad o2 sensor? Hmm...

Our aircare is a ******* joke, man. You could go to different centers and get different readings at each one. Buy a tank of 94, drive on the freeway for an hour and try again. Or, get a Whistler address .

You have to stop eating so many beans stinky man.

Seriously, did you thoroughly warm up your motor before going?

Aircare is pretty tricky with the sniffer....I'm not sure if you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator anymore...I can't remember if we ever put one in.

If you do, you have to dial the pressure back down to 40psi with vacuum reference....

if the cat has been sitting there or if you have been running your testpipe for an extended period of time, the deposits from running no cat could be blowing out the back of the muffler where they take the sniff test.

It's always best to put the cat in...drive it hard for a little while....to blow out some of the nasty stuff...and while you are waiting in line...keep the revs at 1500rpm while you wait to keep the cat nice and toasty...that **** only works when it is hot.

I actually ran cleaner than I first did in 1998 this time around with that trick..... keeping your foot on the boil while you wait in line.....

BTW, you could always email me with what exactly you failed in.... and by how much you failed by....this could give me an indication of whether or not these "tricks" will work before you go wasting another 45bux or whatever the hell the gov't wants now.
