dyno of 2001 itr!!!
i dynoed 0909 at pruven performance in milford ct, they did great work!
it was approximately 55-60deg in the shop and the air was fresh (my car was the only one running in the shop). they had the hood open with a fan blowing on the motor. they allowed the engine to cool for about 5min between each run.
unfortunately i forgot to get the sae corrected plots printed, these are not corrected. for reference, my first uncorrected run was 173.7whp, the sae corrected number was 167+whp.
in these plots, the blue value is bone stock and the red value is with the spark timing advanced to 18deg.
here is the hp with torque:
and now hp with a/f ratio:

as a good scientist, we made 3 runs between each change.
not corrected!
stock: 174.3whp x 124.5ft/lbs
timing advanced 18deg: 174.6whp x 125.5ft/lbs
not a whole lot of difference in the peak numbers. the graph shows a small increase in torque from 3000-6000rpm and the plot was a bit smoother.
all the runs were done in 3rd gear. from reading the posts here, i thought the runs should be done in 4th gear, but they choose to use 3rd.

CT RESIDENTS!!!
if anyone is interested, pruven performance would like to put together a dyno day on any given sunday. their regular rate is $100/hr, but we would be given a discounted flat rate for the day - unlimited dyno runs.

yep, i don't know how much using 3rd gear affects the results, but it looks like i have a slightly above average motor! the airbox was not touched, all we did was pop open the hood; i doubt the fan even skewed my results because it was blowing on the top of the motor and not where the intake is located.

those are rediculously big #'s for stock /. im not sure im believing that much
i know my motor is still strong and i got a test pipe, exhaust, intakem fuel rail, fpr, and i only put 168 to the wheels.
for you to do about 8hp more stock , im not buying it. im sorry , you ever take that thing down the track?

The SAE corrected number was ~ 168hp & ??tq. I could see that being a possiblility, still strong, but uncorrected doesn't really give anybody a comparison. I've never even bothered to look at "uncorrected" figures on my dyno runs....
If you are 168 & (probably 120lb/ft) then you have a strong stock car...Nice!

please read the entire post, the whp values on the plots are uncorrected. the stock sae corrected value is about 167-168whp; an average itr puts down about 163whp. with the timing advanced the car gained about 1whp and 1fl/lb.

lucas, they carry quite a few go fast goodies: jun, fluidyne, act, moroso, etc. just give them a call. they specialize in awd eclipse drag cars.

Relax
my car is far from weak , this set up willl take me high 13's on the track .
i also negelected to mention 2min after that dyno run , i dynoed again at 230 at the wheels@181ft/lbs , which would prob take me low 13's if not high 12'swith with a quick tap of a button. . . . .so my car is very far from weak , but like i said , i dont really believe its stock .
but we are all entitled to our own opiniosn i guess.

budman, sorry if i was confusing, but i was referring to itr201's post.
then
hey TBONE, hurry up and fing a friggin' chassis to put that motor in so we can do this dyno session, i know i don't have much to tune on MY bucket, i'll participate for a baseline run...i'm curious to see what kind of #'s i'm puttin down....maybe 150?! OMG!!! get back to me...

We did our dyno day... My best corrected run was 170.3 whp and 119 ftlbs of tq
Dr Pooface backed up my runs with 168whp corrected.. his plot is on this forum somewhere... I think he made less power cause my motor is looser ( me 14k, him 8k... )... both of us were pleased to say the least...
I've seen quite a variance in numbers from different dyno's, so of course the number is not really usefull except to measure the difference mods make...
