Default Dyno Run

Here's my dyno plot from friday..

This run was on 9psi... I think there's still power to be gained here. I had to set the timing back a bit... I took like 5 degrees out. If anybody wants to dyno around the southern california area go to Extreme Motorsports really top notch tech's there. They only charged me 150 for 4 hours I was there with a wideband o2.

Here's my other wacked dyno 3 months before.

This was at 8psi. Only difference is the downpipe change to Arturbo's downpipe and 1psi increase. I must have had 15 runs here in an hour.

You guys think Im runnin a lil lean ?

Nice results....
You gained 66 hp and 50 ft/lbs of torque by only raising the boost by 1 psi and switching to a 3" DP? That doesn't sound right... Why were your numbers so low for 8 psi to begin with? Weird...

Is ther anything else you did different? I mean I wouldnt expect to see that big of a jump but anything is possible. That is a big jump tho and Im curious to see maybe if you left something out...maybe?

When I bought this kit from someone (custom). The downpipe was all wacked. The compressor was sitting on the passenger side and the downpipe was shaped like a 7, there was no room for a bend. So I switched it all around the right way. Maybe it was the wideband tuning too because my air/fuel was all wacked.

My mods:
Custom kit, Stock LS motor
t3/t04e 50 trim, .63 A/R stage 3
Arturbo's Downpipe, NO cat, 3" exhaust muffled with a Magnaflow muffler
Zdyne ECU

When we finished dyno'ing I noticed the 3 bolts holding the turbo to the manifold
had gotten loose causing an exhaust leak so I'm hoping to re dyno again and run
on 100 octane and put stock timing back on to gain more power (damn 91 octane)

163hp on that first dyno run at 8psi? thats pretty awful, i sure hope my numbers are better than that. do you have an intercooler, fmu, fuel pump upgrade?

Its a long story behind the low power but mostly the gheto'ed downpipe. Anybody know what I should be running with my power? on street tires?

Haha....Buy Art's Down pipe and Gain 66HP and 55 FT/TQ to the wheels. Kinda sounds like a commercial ad. Or that Spiralmax supercharger. But this one is proven. Good Job Art. lol

13.6-13.7 should be feasible id guess, at like 102-103 or so, assuming a good *** launch.

So your old downpipe was that bad?
Art, the old downpipe pics that I sent you was not the one. I had an older one than that I had when I dyno'ed. Like I said if you can picture it my old downpipe had a 7 shape. this is my last attempt to explain this hehe. Here is a drawn example. But the compressor was sitting on the passenger side. The reason it was shaped that way is because it would hit the fan if there was a bend and I did not make it that way that's how I bought the used kit. Didn't know too much or any, 1 year or 2 ago when I bought it so I really didn't know.

After that I switched it all around the right way as pictured above is the right way. I had my local muffler shop attempt to make me a downpipe as you can see is pretty ghetto (as shown below). I could only bolt 3 out of the 5 bolts in the downpipe. I didn't care at the time because of the 3" downpipe I was waiting for (4moths to exact lol!). Now I never dyno'ed with 2nd downpipe on because of the exhaust leak.

I know its confusing but thats it.

Here are some #'s you can compare too . maybe it will be useful .. maybe not ..

I ran a turbocharged Ls in my CRX si about two years ago ..

At 10 P.S.I with a t3/to4e .48 a/r with a stage 2 wheel ..56 trim ..
stock internals at 14 degrees timing . R.C. 310cc, Msd Inline, F.M.U.
stock CRX Si ecu

I made 251 WHP. 202 ft-lbs of torque .. ... Any of you guys have similar #'s

Those are good numbers, it must be the different turbo's that change the hp so much. What other mods were there? like intake manifold? pnp head? There some guy here that ran 270hp at 10psi. But didnt list his mods. Ben @ importparts ran 254hp or so with 11psi of boost with cam gears.

Thats why i was rushing you to send me the downpipe so much.
When I first had my turbo setup is when I ran 14.8 @ 96mph with 9psi,
now I ran a 14.3 @ 102mph at 8psi. I still need to hit the dyno next
week to extract more power out of this.

CtDragCivic: Hey man, how fast was that car? I've got an 88 CRX HF with an LS swap, and a DRAG Gen III on the way? I've got a nice little Zdyne under the floor board too

ArtTurbo: Quick question, do you think on of your DP would fit the above mentioned car? I have a Place Racing mount kit if the helps.....

Yes, the downpipe will fit all b-series motors. I dont know how much of clearance you have but that just might be a problem.
