for those of you with S1s on your b16a...can someone tell me what the nipple sticking up out of the top of the tranny is for? its somewhat big, bout half an inch wide in diameter, i assume a hose clamps to it but i have no extra hoses

its in the middle of the top of the trans, around the area below the distributer, by the starter..

not quite sure what it is i think it is a vebt tube or somthing

There is supposed to be a rubber plug in it (if it is indeed the vent tube). You might want to get another one and stick it in there to keep contaminants out.

 

mine's got a black rubber or plastic cap on it.

 

i remember seeing an odd looking rubber cap laying around the garage...i guess it fell off, im gonna see if i can find it after work
