Default racing gas question

i jsut had my car tuned on 91 octane. i wanted to use racing gas (113octane) will that make my engine run to lean? and will a gallon of 113 raise my octane at all?
like if i had 5 gallons of 91 and 1 gallon of 113 will it raise it to like 95?

also i read in another post that high octane helps to prevent detonation. how is that sense it just makes you run leaner? and also last nigfht i had a dream that chevron started carrying racing gas. is there anywhere else i can buy racing gas other than at the track??

one more thing what octane should i use? how much would be overkill? i have a b18c1 10.0:1 cr hondata w/80shot and i also heard that high octane burns slow i thought it would burn fast. does it really burn slower than 91?

Octane is a rating system to describe a fuels resistance to detonation.Detonation is when a fuel burns so fast it explodes instead of burning at a controlled rate.Fuels with a high rating number have additives to slow the burn rate under higher pressure and temp. You want the lowest octane rating without detonating.Racing fuels have additives that improve power without raising the octane rating.Race fuels require a different mapping in your hondata.Sunoco GT100 is available at some station and many tracks. The 113 will be way to much octane rating.

i didnt know that race fuel requires a different mapping on hondata. what if i just added 1 gallon? would i still need it to be retuned on a different mapp? cause i do need atleast 92octane with nitrous

if you just had your car tuned on 91.. leave it alone.. If you start mixing race gas you will end up running richer and actually losing hp. if your motor was "tuned" already. now if it was detonating all over the place. i can see an improvement. but if its fine.. dont mess with it.
