Default mini-me compression, whats safe?

this will be daily driven, so i need reliability.

it will be converted to obd1 or obd2, and will be on stock fuel management. here's my two options:

d15b1 bottom end/z6 head/y8 gasket= about 10.42:1 compression
d15b1 bottom end/y8 head/y8 gasket- about 10.86:1 compression

which is safer to run on 90 octane pump gas? if they are both safe, will the y8 head or the z6 head make more power?

Both compression ratios will work on pump gas just fine.

and the y8 will be a tad stronger, due to the higher compression, but make sure to put 91 or above octane in...

Oh, and swap to obd1, no one swaps to obd2 unless its for emisions, and if thats your case, go with the z6, so you can swap to obd1, alot easier and cheaper. But also, if your worried about emisions, you wouldnt be doing a minime, so yeah, y8 with obd1...

is there any other way to tweak a little more compression out of the z6 head without touching the pistons or having anything milled?

does this apply to the y8 head gasket, because i thought that the y8 head gasket was 2-layer?
