Redline 5W30 Synthetic in ITR transmission?
Ok i just finished swapping to a jdm itr trans with the 4.7 fd and put redline 5w30 in it. I wasnt able to get to the honda dealership before i could do my swap but i was wondering if i will be fine with this fluid? Ive heard mixed reactions about using redline mtl but this is the 5w30 synthectic. Thanx for the help in advance. BTW: i did search!
Shifts smooth and feels good....... just needed some opinions before i go and change the fluid. Thanx

Switch it as soon as possible. I messed up a GSR tranny by using that stuff. The oil was just to slick for the tranny. Now I only use Honda MTL but I may try the GM Syncromesh.

Keep in mind this is basically 5w30 regular motor oil by redline......... not the special redline mtl that is like 10/qt.........
I will switch it though for sure.........

if it is synthetic and doesnt have friction modifier in it, it will be too slippery. you will prob grind every now and then.
ive used redline mtl and it's good stuff imo, it's synthetic but it is friction modified.

Do not use synthetic oil in the gearbox. Its too slippery...
You can use regular 10W30 oil in there if you are in a pinch but Honda MTF is best for street driving
