Torque Specs for Exhaust
Just need to get things straight before I install exhaust.
Torque Specs for 3 Bolts on Cat and Axle back for aftermarket exhaust systems.
If you use same specs as stock they are 25 lb-ft at the cat, 16 lb-ft at the axle. Correct?
The factory specs are irrelevant with an aftermarket cat back.
The axle joint on the stock exhaust uses spring tensioners and cone style gasket. Aftermarket uses standard bolts and flat exhaust gasket. 16 lb-ft is way too low.
Any thoughts on this?

good question...
honestly when i did my exhaust (spoon n1/t1r bpipe) 25ft lb's was about right on the cat. i hand torqued it a little bit past because it was leaking, but other than that it's doing fine. to the axle back i'm sure it doesn't matter TOO much, just be careful not to break the bolts, bend the flange, strip the threads, etc. i say just get it tight, not rattling, no leaking and you'll be fine.
good luck!
