Longest swap ... drop it in or take it out from the top?
Well my friend blew his LS last night (misshifted and reved to 9K) so he called me up right away and begged me to sell him a 95GSR that I had lying arround that was gonna go in my GF 99 Integra...
I agree to sell it to him for 3500$ CA installed... since I got the motor for 3000$ i figured that was fair...
Well I have done 4 swaps on integras (i buy theift recoveries) and I always drop them in by the bottom.... but since I did this swap at my GF's house and not at a real garage with a lift I had to put the motor in by the top with a engine lift..
I totally didnt realize that you have to drop to motor in on a angle so the tranny side goes in first... It took me and my buddy 2 hours just to drop the damm thing in straight,, AGGGGGHHHHHH
anyways 7-8 hours later we are done and it drives perfect,,,, just have to hook up the vtec wires tomo...
sorry for this boring post, but i needed to let off some steam
so what do you guys like better? dropping the motor in from the top or bottom???

ive on;y dropped motors in from the top so I couldnt really say. It only takes about 30 min to get it in straight. good luck
I've always used a hoist and dropped it in from the top...
Last time me n my buddy got the engine in, and all four mounts in 20 mins. Just takes practice, its like our freakin 15th time we've dropped in an engine.
I've noticed that its waaaaaaaay easier to have only the bottom half of the tranny mount in when you're lowering it in...lower it below the mount...bolt in the mount to the frame, then to the engine, and torque those bolts. Unstrap that side, then put in the drivers side. Takes like 5 mins max
