Default Loose sounding suspension, driving shudder

Ok
I have a 91 ef hatch with a b16a, tokico illuminas with ground control coilovers.
problem is when I shift into second gear at 7500 rpm the front end shudders hard and feels like the suspension is loose. Also a clanking sound can be heard when making turns. Got up under it and nothing seems to be loose. checked suspension, tie rods, cv boots, drive axles, and steering rack all seem to be in working order.
Everything seems tight from underneath. We also checked the steering column and no problems seem to be there. Also checked the brakes and ended up replacing three barke pad retaining springs. Helped a little when braking but not much.
any help would be greatly appreciated

Damn, well it seems you checked all there was to check. Any steering/alignment problems?

Mine has a clanking noise when I begin to stop and begin to move again. I tried replacing the brake pads retaining clips and that didn't help. But a friend of mine had a similar problem and told me it turned out to be warped rotors. But I haven't replaced mine yet. So I don't no if that is the problem or not.............

Did you check the sway bar ends? Not that they would cause a shudder, but a clunk, sure. Also, check that the strut rods, where they bolt into the front cross member are tight, this could cause a clunk and shudder. Your engine in the bay nice and tight? What mounts are you using? Good luck!

strut rods are tight. ok here's what I did today I put that bad boy up on jackstands and took the wheels off. Pulled the calipers off to inspect them and replace the brake pad retaining clips that were not there. next I pulled the shock/coilover assembly down and out and pulled it apart to check for loose parts or other problems. to do all this I had take the wishbone off of the bottom of the shock assembly. And the strut rod off of the front cross member.
