Default Intercooler Size for EK???????

I was wondering what is the biggest size intercooler i can possibly fit into my ek without cutting or hitting anything?

when people have the sizes 31Lx10Hx3W, does the 31 mean the length of the fins or includes the endtanks?

also is there any disandvantage of having a too big intercooler?

I tried a search but couldnt find anything on this.

THANKS

31w means with endtanks. That size you will have to cut the bumper and more

I've got just the intercooler and endtanks--no piping.

i have the precision turbo 31x10.3x3.5 on my 97 hx, i only had to do minor cutting(on the plastic on the bottom of the grill on the front bumper) to fit the intercooler. we will be running 3 inch aluminum intercooler piping within 2 weeks.

We use 29.5" x 8.5" x 3" and still use the stock bumper brace.

the 1026 precision intercooler you have to get rid of it or it will hang below your bumper. IT is a tall intercooler

Excuse the stupid question but the bumper support is held on by bolts? It isn't welded on?

I have the greddy 24 on my EG and the only thing i had to do was remove the bumper support. i also trimmed some of the bumper cause it was too close for comfort. didnt wana take the chance of poking a hole in it.

Sweetness! I have a Type 24 also. It's good to know that I can just unbolt the bumper support which is an oxymoron because it doesn't support anything on my EK.
