on the cam gear their are marks to let you know, most have a word on it that saise "up" thats TDC. or others are different as well look for the mark thats different from the rest, line the crank pulley up with the marking on the timing belt cover, it sticks out like a little peice of plastic, then make sure the cam gear is line up with the marks on the timing belt cover as well...

theirs 1 major 1, its right under the cam gear to the left.. after that your goot to go...

dont forget any keys and make sure t-belt is tight.

Put a screw driver in number 1 cylinder hole and turn the crank pully untill the screw driver is at its highest point.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 90blackcrx &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Put a screw driver in number 1 cylinder hole and turn the crank pully untill the screw driver is at its highest point.</TD></TR></TABLE>

That may be a bit difficult with the head off the block

Spin the crank until #1 piston is all the way at the top...and the mark on the crank is lined up with the mark on the oil pump...then install the head...then install the cam...line the mark in the inner timing cover and the mark on the cam gear...then your almost done...for more info and detail go to http://www.helminc.com Buy the book!

I did not think someone would really not know how to look at a piston and see when its at tdc.
