ok i have an 88 crx with a b16a. i was having transmission problems so i bought another cable tranny. me and a friend swap trannys, and everything goes cool. When everything is finished i test drive the car, all the gears are working, transmission seems fine. but i am hearing a very strange noise so i come back home to check everything out. then i notice that the alternator pulley is scraping against the frame. this is strange because when we did the motor swap we made clearance for the alternator and everything was cool before we put this tranny in.
im thinking that i should pull out the motor and make the extra clearance that i need. if anyone has some info or advise let me know thanks.

 

get a smaller belt and then you can pull it forward slittle and it will give you more clearance.

 

where is the BFH when you need it

or you can just install a shorter 4-rib belt like previously suggested

 

hammer my buddy had the same problem, just got the hammer out and made more room for the alternator

 

I used the stock D series alt. and it works fine. Much cheaper to replace and really easy to take in and out. Sometimes I wonder if it puts out enough power tho.

I ended up beating my frame rail before the swap. Try a smaller belt like said before.
