Default type s and base

hey guys, i have a base rsx, and I know that the difference is 160hp for the base and 200 for the s, but what EXACTLY makes the difference in power? i dont care about the leather seats, and all the cosmetic crap, i just want to know about power.

head (valves, valve springs, retainers, cams)
intake manifold
pistons
ECU

tranny

im probably missing some things to you would probably be better off just trading your base for the Type S, not only is it the engine , but you get a better chassis as well (bigger sway bars etc)

Go turbo and the compression ratio will actually work to your advantage because you can boost more!!! Otherwise, get an S.

You can't convert a k20a3 to a k20a2 for any worthwhile amount of money. If you're seriously thinking of modding, then trade up. The k20a2 has tons more potential than the base, excpetion being high boost F/I.

valve train is completely different.
type s has vtec(as we know it)+vtc=i-vtec
si and base rsx have vtec-e+vtc=low emissions, and better fuel economy

K20A2 (Type S) has VTEC on both intake and exhaust ports, higher compression, and different intake manifold. It's not worth converting a K20A3 into an A2. Just go out and get a Type S for the price of doing the conversion.

I have an EP3 and the 160 horses is killing me. One of my only advantages is its curb weight. But the type-S will still smoke me.

So, type-s head and ecu, with a base block and a snail, sounds nice.
