Fusebox relocation...
Ok I did a search... Didnt find anything!! All I want is pictures of guys that have relocated the fusebox/relaybox from the engine compartment into the car. I want pictures of where they mounted the fusebox on the inside of the car. I am putting a d16z6 in this weekend and would like to relocate the fusebox, I like a clean engine bay
i don't think i have seen anyone do this...
you'll need to run extended wires into the passenger compartment and then find a nice place to mount it...
bust out your measuring tape and get your hands dirty...

I have done it. If you use your stock battery location you need to make one wire longer. Otherwise its open the looms, pull the wires you need and close up the loom. Mine is above the ECU.
I'll take pics. Just give me some time....

Eh, i did it on my old crx, just had to legnthen the starter wires, and the wiper motor wires, along with the map sensor wires. Kinda of a pain if you still ave the ac stuff under teh dash, i ziptied mine to the bottom of it all, pretty ghetto, but cleaned up teh engine bay, youll have tons of extra wire to bunch up, the thick *** main loom. Oh, and you also have to extend all teh passenger side headlight and turn signal wires, well, i had to, but i didnt pull apart the thick *** wire loom, probably could have saved some time by dong that.
This was one of the more relatively yeasy mods on my car.
Unplug EVERYTHING
Push back every single plug through the firewall. You'll have to cut the tape off, and minor cutting of the hard plastic cover. Push the wiper motor plug back into the bay.
Wiggle under dash. Spend an hour untangling the wires, and routing them properly.
Plug in the fuse cover box. You'll have JUST enough room.
There are 3 extended studs left on the bottom of the floor. I used 2 that miraculously fit exactly to hold the box in place. It's located just above the ECU.
Wires cut: 0
Wires extended: 0
Wires rerouted: ALOT
Result:

Granted...theres still SOME wiring in the bay. But I'm not a big fan of cutting up my harness. Often causes more harm than good.

SETI20 -
can you post pics of where you mounted the fuse panel just above the ECU... i want to see how it looks. Also is there any chance of a passenger say getting a muddy foot up there and getting everything wet and messy?

As long as we are on the topic of relocating/cleaning up engine bay. I saw a pic where a guy use a Odessy battery (smaller than stock) and mounted it behind the center console. Be cause the battery was still "in front of him". This ment it did not require to be in a box. To pass tech at the track. Has anyone seen/done this?

I believe the rule at the track is that a firewall must seperate the battery form the driver, because of possilbe explosion. battery acid is not something i want on me

yea i would want a battery to have at least the firewall between me and it. would it be possible to mount a smaller battery like the odyssey still in the eninge bay but tuck it out of the way somewhere?
The rule for the battery is that it needs to be fastened down in some way. Not loose. In case of a rollover or whatnot, then the battery can't go flying out of the car and whacking them in the head, killing them instantly. Of course it's safe for the driver too.
Just think, seconds later after your car flips 3 times and you are just coming to a stop, and you smile, thinking "I made it out alive!" then all of the sudden, your weak *** battery cracks you in the head.

Its mandatory if you relocate the battery, no matter what times you run. But if you have the battery in the stock location and run anything faster then 9.99 then you need a cut off switch.

Also SETI20 do u have any pics of where and how ur batt. relocation looks?
