Default Having a HEADACHE w/EMS...thinking about switching back to Hondata..

ever since i got my car, i've been having problems with the EMS system. First it was the software/firmware, then it was the serial port(my laptop doesn't have a 9-pin), then the epromm, now i don't even know what it is anymore!! don't get me wrong, i love playing with it...but it would be nice if i could play with it with the car running! my tunner is gone for another 2 weeks so i'm stuck running stock injectors along with a stock ecu. I'm really thinking about tradding someone for a hondata

are there any Teg owners here who can tell me what i'm doing wrong?

*sorry just had to vent*

I'm confused....one minute you're saying you like to play with the EMS, and then the next you're saying your stuck with the stock injectors because your tuner is out of town. So you are just messing with it before you go get it tuned?. If you do, then you should be able to install aftermarket injectors.

I don't know what issues you're having, but, the AEM EMS (which i'm guessing is what you have) doesn't appear to be particularly hard to use. I've seen a few setups using it, and have seen the software, and it's pretty much cut-and-dry stuff.

well if it were that easy then i'd be running my 1008cc injectors already. but it's not...and i don't think it's AEM's fault nor is it my lack of knowledge about the EMS. I've talked with Mase, JDogg, and Muckman, all of whom are great tuners on this board w/the EMS. They've all tried helping me solve my problems... but without any luck. My last guess is that the EMS has fried coils from a tuner in Milwaukee that didn't know what the hell he was doing. Muckman and Mase gave me precise instructions on what to do in order to start the car with stock injectors...i tried that and nothing. i am able to log on with my laptop, but i just can't get the thing to fire up(that's what i meant with able to play with it). I've checked spark and fuel already...i've got fuel, just no spark. I've also tried getting a hold of AEM...and let me tell you, out of 30 times i've only gotten through once. and that was to get a new epromm because i figured the old one was burnt by the dumbass tuner in milwaukee.

AEM Tech support is a bitch for the EMS. Everyone and their grandma is calling them asking them to basically tune their car over the phone.

Your best bet is the AEM forums and post in the honda section. You will probably get a bit faster replies, and everyone there has experience with the system.

I have limited experience tuning DSM's and such with the EMS, but I have yet to play with one on my Integra.

I'd be willing to bet money that you burnt out your coil driver, try repinning it to another one and changing the coil driver in the software. I had the same issue with the first 3 coil drivers on my last box. Good luck

that's exactly what i'm thinking as well...but the problem is i don't know how to change the coil drivers. everytime i try switching it to coil 2,3, or 4, i check the prarameters and it's still on coil 1. could you explain how to change coil drivers?
