Default Gutted Mufflers

We all know we could gut our cats. But is there any way to gut a muffler? I was thinking of gutting my stock muffler that i have so cops could leave me a little bit alone.

Im pretty sure it would sound alot louder but if it looks stock and has a cat how could they say its loud. Its just a thought, let me know. Thanks.

They normally pull you over because the exhaust is loud and attracts there attention.

good idea, but i would think that a gutted muffler if you can totally gut it... would sound like real ****...so you might get pulled over anyway...im not sure though cause i have never heard or seen a gutted muffler..

Yea but if its a car passing buy and they give chase and see the muffler is stock they cant really get you for much unless they pull you over and ask you to rev it. But can they even do that?

Anyway i was wondering if it could even be done.

The only way that i could think of it being done is cutting a line down the middle and pull the sides up, then take everything out and weld it shut.

Yeah, it can be done. You just need to find a shop that'll do it. What I did a loooooong time ago on my maxima, was we took the stock muffler and cut it down on each side so that there was a seperate top and bottom piece. Then we installed a Cherry Bomd straight through and welded the sides back together. Have fun.

if you are going to gut make sure you got some gloves on because I think they got some glass wool or some **** like that inside that can cut you. Also it might be a good idea to put a pipe thru it.

I was thinking about how to do this last week because my friend gutted his stock muffler and it sounded really good (sounds stock but deeper). I will try to get ahold of him and find out what he did.

of course they can... i had a stock muffler on my old accord, and when i got pulled over for hyper white turn signals in the front, the chp officer told me to start my car and rev it b/c he thought my exhaust was modded
