well the head looks nice and clean. im not an expert but it looks like your flow numbers got higher. so i guess more flow is more power.

id you dont mind me asking.. how much did it cost?? is that a race only port job?

its not a race port and polish its there competition port and polish. its a very aggressive job made for the street. they have one more stage above the comp but it was another grand and well... ya **** that.

total with the head being port and polished, milled, itr valves put in and the intake manifold and throttle body port matched it was 1300.

are you local to their shop? or did u send the head in? If you shipped it, was it still only $1300 for everything? and how long did it take?

im not trying to talk **** but the only port that i know from alaniz or portflow is full race there is no stages when it comes to drag racing. street or not it should flow the best for your set up.

you obviously don't know much about alaniz then. if you look at there site. theres 3 levels of work they do. a street set up which is very mild. the competition port which is the best for street and strip and the Full race which isn't made for street use.

i'm not local its about 1.5 hours away so i drove. i don't know how much it would be to ship.

what would all you guys recommend if I plan to just go with skunk2 stage 1 cams and 11.4:1 CR? I was looking at Alaniz's competition work like you but I'm afraid that port work would be way too big for my setup. But I also dont want to go too small the with Alaniz street setup..

thoughts?

we'll see how yours turns out. lol

im still skeptical since stage ones peak out at only 8k or so. I would expect a 9k redline to take full advantage of this portwork.

with kenji's ecu i have a 9000 rpm redline. but i'll shift at 8800. i figure with the air flow i'm gettign and the ecu program i have i should make power to 8600.

i think i will make 190whp if not really close to it. but we'll see. i'm really excited non the less. please wish me luck guys.

You just want close to .500" Lift. Torque Peak is camshaft dependant, and horsepower peak depends on aiflow (Manifolding, etc..)

PORTFLOW.. charges about 1000 per head... but yet in reality...

He's a scambag super lowbudget nickel and dime lowballer.

drives and itr and has a race car.. yet lowballs for a couple of dollars.

Tom is a nice guy and great to do business with but in all honesty, his heads are refered to as "fluff and buff" by quite a few people in the industry. Tom is an extremely talented individual but I think his talents apply more towards the heads on his sponsored pro cars rather than towards his average joe customer. A lot of people dont realize that the portflow reworked heads people are running deep into the 10's with arent your average 2 week turnaround head that gets pumped out of their shop on a consistant basis. Tom's heads are well done and he provides an excelent survice... IMO though, for an all out deal Id be going with RLZ, JG, AEBS or even one of my Diamond in the rough head proters I found here locally

If its a decent, good quality head you want then portflow is the place for you...

If your looking for something a little more persay, then look around, do some poking around at events... The top dogs are out there, you just gotta go out and find them...
