B20b or B20z?

So far i have a b16a2 in my eg.I want to do a b20 vtec conversion,but i don't know which one is better out of the two.My buddy hasa b2o vtec turbo and i think he is using a b20b block.I know one has higher compression than the other.I'm confused please help.Thanx
