check engine light is on and wont go over 3000 rpm
i recently changed my tranny, and everything worked fine until about 2 mins after its on the check engine light comes on and it runs like crap(wont go over 3000 rpm), i made sure all of my connections are plugged in about 50 times. a buddy of mine says it could be my map sensor and i called a couple of mechanics and they all said the same thing. and i also heard that theres a way to jump some wire to give me a code to tell me exactaly whats wrong with it, but i dont know how to do that either, can anyone give me advice???
Did you re-connect the ground wire that mounts to the tranny casing when reinstalling your trans ?
what year is your vehicle?

Check your grounds especially, the one on the thermostat housing. I have seen this many times before. Also pull up your carpet and see which code it is throwing. Make sure if you do find a loose or disconnected ground that you reset your ECU

ok.. i got the same problem.. 2006 civic si.. the car was on a mini accident.. i fixed it.. changed the intake because the stock 1 was messed up... i had to buy the MAF sensor.. so i put it in... now it wont go over 3000 rpm with out the sensor connected.. when i connect the sensor the cars goes over 3000.. but shuts off... it wont stay on for more than 10 secs... i too it to auto zone.. the codes say the MAF and IAT is bad.. thats all.. but i bout the MAF brand new at the dealer.. what else could it be??
