new crx si
There is so much talk about a new rex. I hav seen drawings but no real pics. There is a photchopped pic of an insight that people were passing off as a rex. It may happen someday, but who knows. A new rex with the rsx type s engine would rock.
this is copied and pasted from another forum:
"From Today's AutoExpress and TOV:
CIVIC CRX SET TO STORM BACK
There's nothing civilised about the new Civic. With the emphasis firmly on making its family hatchback more sporty than ever, Honda has radical plans for the next-generation car - and they include bringing back the CRX badge.
The mag's exclusive spy picture reveals what the all-new model will look like, and shows another interpretation of the Civic shape that has evolved over the past 30 years. The front end will be more rakish, while the current version's MPV-like styling will be smoothed out into a more conventional hatchback form.
While both three and five-door variants are expected to be available from launch - set for 2006 - Honda is also said to be planning a high-performance flagship coupé. That would wear the CRX badge last used in 1997. All versions are certain to get Type R models, with power outputs in excess of 200bhp. Also expect less extreme cars with plenty of visual impact, but without the high running costs of a hot hatch.
However, there will be more to the new Civic than just driving thrills. Honda knows that a large proportion of buyers still place practicality as their top priority, so the five-door is likely to be one of the most versatile family cars on the market. Adapting design ideas from the Jazz, it is expected to get impressive interior space and rear seats that fold away to leave a completely flat load floor"

i think the only thing that will ever be made to look like a new rex is the insight. not a performance car but is very similar in the looks of the crx.
Yeah...this wish has been passed around many times as stated...
A new REX would be awesome! But does anyone expect those goof-ball marketing wizards at Honda North America to really get it straight. Honda N.A. and Japan is still focused on ensuring we get middle of the road cars...basically the type of cars that appeal (as they believe) to the largest base of potential customers. This was published in USA Today a couple months ago...they are sticking to their core business. Honda N.A. is going to end up like Toyota...and then have to come out with some dumb econo box (Scion) vehicles with no *****.
The latest Civic Si (egg on wheels) should tell people where Honda's head is...screw that car...go and get the Nissan Sentra SER Spec-V...for the money (or rather for less money) you can't go wrong.
Maybe they should listen like Subaru did about the WRX and STi.
But I guess I can't complain too much...at least at Honda they are not on some bad trip thinking something that looks like an Aztek is what we want. Famous blunder!
But personally Honda is totally walking away from a great opportunity in the Sport Compact industry that they helped to grow/build accidently by supplying the right cars and at the right price. Talk about dumb luck...but capitalize on it further...doubtful.
I don't know who Honda survey's when trying to figure out what a new model car should be. Honda Element...yeah...Honda got that one right 18-35 er's are gonna buy that box. About the only people I see driving them are old folks and people going through some sort of mid-life crisis and somehow the shape defines their current state in life.
Enough blowin' steam!
