Default How many K-series EFs are really out there?

I know everyone has seen the red hatch with the K20A2 and the RSX dash and all in it, and I think I have seen an all motor K20A CRX drag car being built, but how many people actually have or are going to attempt a K20 swap in an EF? I thought the west coast would have a few by now.

well I think the 2 main reasons you have not seen more are:

mounts needs to figured out for sure

K motors are expensive still

Very true, with some more R&D and more Japanese asses totaling their Rs it should be as common as a ZC rex

yup true, and the hood clearance is another issue. I for sure would not want a funny car style hood scoop on my CRX just to clear a K-series

Yea my hood hits my B16 valve cover a little bit (AN-R mounts) I bet the clearance on a K series is horrible

yeah I've seen the hood on the one K-series drag car and damn its fugly. My B18C1 rubs a bit on my hood but I trimmed the ribs on the underside of my CF hood and its fine

I believe even Brian G said a custom hood is ABSOLUTELY necessary [even if you're trying to use the JDM hood that is raised up] with their mounts. Later down the road they're going to make custom mounts that will allow you to mount the engine anywhere you like, but I'm sure the trade-off is horrible ground clearance.

The only hood I know of that will give the clearance is the Gude hood, and that thing is fugly.
