Default RSX Type S Bose Subwoofer install on EF Hatchback

No luck in Audio forum or Seach (guess i might say this before hand)

Has anyone ever tried this??
I was thinking of using spare tire as subwoofer place. If it will be flush perfectly out of sight on the spare tire compartment, would be GREAT. Keep Thief away & max trunk space.

So...what do you do if you get a flat? Unless you want to tie down the spare tire on your roof

if you're seriously interested in using that sub (almost all bose systems are junk) and want to put it in with your spare. You're either going to have to get creative with some 1/2" mdf or build yourself a fiberglass enclosure down there.. Its not too complicated.. probably go with about .25 - .5 cu ft in the enclose and you should be safe. Don't give that sub more than 100 watts though.

The sub in my g/f's RSX sits in the spare... So both are there, no problemo... Good idea, but the sub is only like a 6.5" high excursion model and it is teh suck. Get a real box. A JL Audio Microsub 8.1 is a TINY setup, and hits pretty good in the hatch.

Bad idea. For starters, bose is a pain in the *** to do stuff to, you wont have a spare tire, and placing the sub in there will not give you very good sound quality.

Definately not an option for those who don't like getting stranded or paying for a tow truck.

-Andrew, who only takes out his spare when he's at the strip/track

Tripple A free towing! First 100 miles free. I still take my spare with me on trips though, but around town I could care less.

triple A wont save your *** if you're on the NJ garden state parkway or nj turnpike, only certain tow truck companies can get you off the parkway. and its like 300$ at night

You guys DO understand that the Bose subwoofer fits IN the spare tire... The spare stays with it.

The key is this, what size of spare tire does the RSX have, and what size does the CRX have. If they are the same it will most likely fit. Anyone with an RSX know the spare tire size?

It's a 15" to clear the brakes... the actual size of the sub should be fine in a 13 or 14" spare... SHOULD. I haven't actually tried this, though.

I'm more concern about how is wiring done, I heard its a nightmare.

I could have a custom sub box in the back, but i'm tired of moving around the box when i go shopping.
