h22 tranny/clutch problems
ok, h22a w/ non-lsd tranny, stock clutch, couple weeks ago when starting to go in first gear it would squeal, from what ive been told its the throw out bearing not spinning and the fingers on the pressure plate rubbing against it, few days later that went away, then last week all of a sudden i could not change gears at any rpm except off, the car would go if i started the car in first but would move cuz the clutch wouldnt disengage when the clutch was to the floor, now today it all works perfectly fine again
linkage is fine, fluid is fine, from what i know if the clutch is going out then it happens and thats it, its either working or borken, but this keeps goin back and forth, it it the pressure plate or bearing that just goes back and forth and the clutch disc is fine??? since the clutch wouldnt disengage it seems like it wouldnt be anything inside the tranny
any help is appreciated
thanks

Okay, first off, when a clutch is worn out it would not do as you described. A worn out clutch would be just as if you had the clutch in all the time. It would not have any contact so the tranny would never spin.
What your problem most likely is, is a broken spring in the clutch plate. If a spring breaks and comes out, it will be stuck in the center of the pressure plate. Sometimes it might catch or get stuck somewhere causing the whole assembly to become "locked". It would not allow you to ever disengage the tranny. The noise you heard was most likely that spring rubbing against something, or a sharp piece of the casing the springs are in being ground off...
