Default timing belt?

i have a 96 gsr and was just wondering at what mileage you think the timing belt should usually be replaced?also what kind of price is good to have it done when i do have it done?live in washignton dc area.

get it done at or around 90K along w/ water pump

costs like 3 hund or thereabouts at the dealer

Yeah around there.. I did it on my moms G2 at 70k..

You shouldn't put it off because I didn't do it on my motor and last night it took a **** on me.. Jumped timing.. when i took it apart i saw the belt was still intact but had a big rip/hole in the middle of it..

No idea how it happend but its not good.. lol
